The goal of AANE includes advocating for appropriate quality services and lobbying for funding at the local, state, and national level.
Currently, we only have information on legislature in the state of Massachusetts. We plan on expanding into the greater portion of New England in the near future.

H3838 is still sitting in the Committee on Children, Families and Persons with Disabilities. We are looking at it being taken up during an early fall executive session where it will probably be referred to Ways and Means. I will keep you posted.

Update on Employment Bill H3838
July 18, 2007
The hearing went well. The committee members responded positively to our oral testimony. We submitted written testimony, as well, from the many of you who forwarded it to us. However, the day was filled with testimony from many different disability groups highlighting their lack of services. Whether the committee’s support will translate into dollars remains to be seen. To date, the committee has not yet decided whether to release the bill favorably/unfavorably or send it to study.
