My first full-time job in New York City was as a Web Designer. I had learned HTML just a few months prior, and enjoyed it enough to consider as an occupation. I quickly grew out of that job description and into more mundane things like UNIX, NT and Macintosh systems administration, but I still design sites. Below is a sampling of sites, some of which are no longer active, that I've designed in the past year. I've got a few more sites brewing in beta currently, so check back in a little bit to see some new designs.

A very quick redesign favor of what had been a totally text based site. The Yale Women's Center is a very strong student group on Yale's campus that provides a variety of different services for women within the community. The basis for the design was the design that is inscribed on the Women's Table designed by Maya Lin of the Vietnam Memorial fame.
I was a founding employee of HotJobs.com. I would have never thought that it would become what it has become. I never thought I would see that little logo that I struggled to design for a couple weeks be broadcast to 100 million people during the Super Bowl. Life is beautiful.
I used to work at OTEC, a New York City systems integration and consulting firm. They own and operate Hotjobs. I recently redesigned the site to make all the pages more aesthetically consistent and make the "look" more contemporary. It is the only site that I've designed using "frames" because I hate them. Most examples I've seen of frames use too many of them and they are confusing as hell. I designed the logo and wrote the copy.
The RBL Agency Ltd is one of the top technical recruiting firms in New York City. The site includes company information as well as several hundred job listings for which their recruiters have openings. They also placed me at OTEC.
This nike site was actually the first that I designed. It was meant to be a demo of my web design skills and not officially endorsed by Nike. This became obvious when my Internet Service Provider was contacted by Nike's lawyers to have me remove the page within 24-hours or face legal action. In the meantime, I had received about one e-mail a month from people wanting more information on Nike shoes. Too bad, I thought the hyperlinked shoe sole was a pretty good idea...
I sang with the Yale Alley Cats for three years during college. They are one of a slew of a cappella singing groups at Yale University, but clearly one of the best! I hope to update the pages pretty soon, but since I'm no longer in the group, that's probably not my decision.
This page was commissioned by the 92nd Street Y in Manhattan for one of their big concerts. Luciano Berio is one of Italy's great living composers, and this site was meant to promote the US Premiere of his complete Sequenzas. The page is no longer "live" at the Y's site, but resides locally on my account in Hawaii.
