dirty e-mails,
but they ignore the putz
Recently, I wrote a personal e-mail to a friend.
It had the word “putz” in the subject line and
some raw language throughout. The reply came, not from my
friend, but from his employer's e-mail system telling me they
block e-mail “containing text matching a weighted list
of profanity.” Here's what they found:
“Scenarios/Incoming/B... ProfanityText Analyzer found
the following search expressions:
“The phrase 'fuck?*' matched 'fucker' at location 2.
“The phrase 'ass' was found at the location(s): 1.
“The phrase 'black' was found at the location(s): 117.
“The phrase 'butt' was found at the location(s): 1,29,57,111,113.
“The phrase 'crap' was found at the location(s): 1.”

Health didn't flag the word “putz” in the subject
