Cocoa

Internet Authoring for Kids

*Cocoa has recently been discontinued by Apple. However a commercial version has been developed and brought to market by it creators - visit StageCast.

Cocoa is an object oriented programming language for children. Cocoa is primarily used to create "adventure games". Cocoa is available free of charge and can be downloaded from the Cocoa web site at www.cocoa.apple.com. To view Cocoa worlds directly in your browser, you need to first download the Cocoa Plug in. Again this can be obtained from the cocoa web site. We have used Cocoa with 3rd - 6th graders. Here are some examples of Cocoa worlds created at school.
