Reflections on the D-S China Exchange
"I didn't realize the huge change in daily life during my past nearly 20 years, until I stepped into Dover. There was such a different life style, different school work, and also different persons around me! I enjoyed my stay and my journey is full but meaningful. I visited Boston and New York City, while my fellow group members visited three cities more. I could get a sense of what is the western culture, and could feel the other side of the earth myself.
So, touching the new culture is enjoyable, and has influenced me a lot, in my present life as well as future life. I hope more and more friends of my age will benefit by this exchange program. Thanks to the internet, we can keep in touch with our friends even though they are 20 hours' flight away.
Thank you Welchs, Ms. Viz, and all the teachers and friends in Dover!"

"From November until December 2002, my family and I had the fantastic experience of hosting an exchange student from Hangzhou, China. What an eye opening thirty days! Dong Hao, affectionately known to our family as Dylan, was a curious, daring 17-year old, who, with a pocket translator, was able to fit right into our family comfortably. In such a short time we were able to get along so well, and both parties, I believe, learned a lot about the similarities and differences between American and Chinese culture."
