1. Reality is fundamentally paradoxical.


2. Free will and determinism are dual interpretations of a single unified nature of human sentient behavior. This is analogous to photons and waves being dual interpretations of the single nature of light known as quantum electodynamics. There is no word or phrase that refers to the single unified nature of human sentient behavior encompassing both free will and determinism.


3. There is more than one right way to . . .


4. Morality is deciding that the right way for others to behave is the same as how you believe you should behave. Ethics is deciding that the right way for you to behave is the same as how you believe all others should behave.


5. At any given time, you should do what seems to you to be the right thing to do at that time, and not be concerned about the ultimate outcome. Leave the outcome in the hands of the gods.


6. Life is like poker. What you have previously put into the pot no longer belongs to you in any way.


7. A bad plan is better than no plan.


8. Each person needs to find his/her own personal natural path, the path that works for him/her. The path found should then be followed until such time that it becomes clear that it no longer is working. Then the path should be abandoned, and a new path chosen.


9. Everyone believes all of his/her beliefs are true. A wiser person also knows that some of his/her beliefs are false. The sage also knows that all of his/her beliefs are arbitrary, and understands that whether they are true or false is irrelevant, but believes them because they are useful.


10. Any complex whole has emergent properties not explainable in terms of the properties of its constituents.


11. Life will appear on any planet where conditions are favorable. Life is very rare in the universe because conditions are very rarely favorable.


12. Reality consists of infinitely many potential realities all interacting according of the laws of quantum mechanics.


13. The horse may learn to sing.


14. Your end of the ship is sinking.


15. How much is a hen's time worth?


16. When money talks, money lies!


17. The present value of the future is (approximately) zero. (NOT!)
