Part 2 - Looking Deeper from Different Perspectives

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. The teacher will assign each group member a specific question to explore about your colonial topic. (Either question 1, 2, 3 or 4).

2. Read through the internet files linked to your group to find information that will help you answer your questions. You may also use the book If You Lived in Colonial Times  by Ann McGovern, Mary Geddy's Day or Samuel Eaton's Day.  If you know another place in the library or in the classroom that can help you research your question, please let me know and we can explore it further!

You will print out the internet files by copying and pasting the important parts into Appleworks (for the I-Mac) or Microsoft Word (for the PC). Do not throw these printed files away! You will pass them in to me at the end of this project!

3.Bookmark the URL (the address) of the Webpage you find your  information from so you can quickly go back to it if you need to.

4.Write a one page newspaper article (using a graphic organizer and the  checklist to help you) that informs the reader about the information you found throughout your research. Don't forget to use lots of details and write down your information as if you were actually a person living in colonial times!

5.Using either Appleworks or Microsoft Word, type your one page article and save it under your name. Make sure you have a title for your article and the author's name (your name!) at the top of your article.

6.Work on the business card, illustration or advertisement that goes along with your article. You will find more detailed directions about these three choices by clicking on each one!

7. I will be grading your project by using a rubric. Look at the rubric to see what you will be graded on!
