Distribution

As part of our ongoing effort to provide the services that our clients need, Triage has begun to distribute records directly to retail, to other distributors and to individuals via mailorder.

With the ever tightening policies of larger distributors, the over burdened catalogs of small distributors and the never ending deluge of records being released, getting an independent or imported record distributed is becoming more and more difficult. It can be the single hardest obstacle that a fledgling label faces.

Through our distribution channels, a small label has a chance of at least getting their new releases on the shelves at some of the more relevant and important indie shops. And because of our simple and direct distribution policies, there is no hassle and confusion with returns, credits, debits and the like.

We sell select titles to our retail contacts on a one-way, c.o.d. basis. Most full-length c.d.s are $10, including shipping. We pay labels $7 per full-length c.d. The prices for e.p.s, 12"s, 7"s, etc. are to be determined on a individual basis.

Because of our terms with the stores, they will only order what they think they can sell. That means that your stock won't be tied up in limbo, on a dusty shelf or in a warehouse. And since the store can't return the records, they are eager to sell what they order. A drawback is that they won't order more than what they think they can sell, but they can always re-order and be restocked in 3 days time.

We account to and credit our labels on a 60 day basis. These and other terms are clearly laid out in a short, to-the-point distribution agreement. We will generally not distribute a label or a title that we are not promoting, or have not promoted in the past.

Our retail catalog lists nearly 300 titles, many of which are exclusive and many of which are imorts. Almost everything listed in our retail catalog is available for mail order through our on-line store affiliate Other Music. Individuals can order full-length c.d. albums using Other Music's's credit card-secure web page, many priced at about $14 plus shipping.
