Joe
the Dragon Math Activities
This is an educational website from Wales. This site contains material
and links that are suitable for most ages. The links are interesting and
some of the puzzles quite challenging. The Maths content currently is
suitable for children between 4 and 15, although more complex material
may well be added in the future. We found the tangrams section to be very
good. You will need Flash to play the games.

"Escape from Knab is an educational simulation which takes participants through a series of financial decision- making experiences in the fun and entertaining setting of the fictitious planet, Knab where visitors discover the results of their actions and decisions. The simulation offers a variety of choices so each visit to Knab is different from the last. However, as participants become adept at the daily activities of living on the planet Knab their knowledge, skills, and capabilities relative to financial decision-making will increase. Because the site design is a collaborative effort among financial professionals, educators and technoweenies, the result is an educationally sound presentation of the knowledge, skills and values required of young adults as they mature into responsible consumers and independent decision-makers."

Use this site for practice Math and Science questions similar to those found on the MCAS. The Third International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS), collected 4th grade & 8th-grade level data in 42 & 38 countries respectively to provide mathematics and science achievement information on U.S. students and those in other nations. It's interesting for the students to try the questions, check the answers and then compare how their contemporaries scored in other countries.
