Isaiah's Opinion of the Boston Massacre
Isaiah works as a stevedore, unloading cargo from the ships in
port.
"This time the contemptible Lobsterbacks have gone too far! They have grown
in number and occupied Boston making us feel like prisoners in our own town.
When they are not causing trouble, they compete for our jobs and foul our living
space. Just last month the Sneider boy, age 11, got in the way of their gunfire
and was killed.
We have no peace from these unwanted brutes. Our town boys, with the tempers
and bravado of youth, often trade insults and throw rocks at the soldiers. And
now five are dead - killed
in cold blood. The first to fall was my friend Crispus
Attucks. He understood the loss of freedom and died protesting it.
No more tyranny - we will break away!"
