William is an innkeeper in Boston.
"And now the King is trying to force this tea situation upon us. The problem
is the tax - why should we care about the fortunes of the East India Company?
Why shouldn't we be allowed to buy whatever tea we want, without paying extra
tax? In other colonies, the ships were sent back to England with their full
cargo. The captain of the Dartmouth was most willing to sail away, but when
we pleaded with Governor Hutchinson to have the ships leave Boston Harbor and
return to England with their tea, he refused.
Well, we tried to talk it out - now we need to prove that we will not accept
this tyranny any longer. The men who frequent my tavern, like my friend Sam
Adams, encourage us to fight for justice. We will send a message through
our actions!"
