White Mountion National Forest
Campgrounds

Campgrounds are located throughout the almost 700.000 acres of NH National Forest. These campgrounds you will fine to be mostly tent sites & smaller RV's. These campground are very inexpence and have just the basic services with no hookups. Most of these campgrounds are well maintained and raked mostly by vounteer campground hosts. Campton Campground
Rte. 49 of I-93 Exit 28 2 .5 miles east to campground
Camping, fishing, hiking. Open year round . 58 Campites, all wooded with towering white pines. Coin-op Showers. Saturday nights (summer nature program) some site require resevations. Mid April through mid October.

White Ledge Campground
Rte. 16 6 miles south of Conway, NH
Very shaded with playfield, Traffic noise from Rte. 16 noticeable. No flush toilet, no showers, hiking on White Ledge Trail loop distance 4.2 miles. Mid April through mid October.

Blackberry Campground
Kancamagus Scenic highway 6 miles West of Conway, NH
Campground is heavily wooded with white birch (NH State Tree).Some walk in tent sites. No flush toilet, no showers, Swift River is nearby.

Passaconaway Campground
Kancamagus Scenic highway 15 miles West of Conway, NH
Campground is located in nice old pine woods. No flush toilet, no showers, hike Church Pond Loop trail 1.6 miles. Mid April through mid October.

Jigger Johnson Campground
Kancamagus Scenic highway 12.5 miles West of Conway, NH
The camground is bordering the Swift River located in established pine forest. Flush toilet and hot showers. Nature program during summer months. Mid April through mid October. Fishing in the Swift river. Wading and swimming in the Swift River within walking distance.

Covered Bridge Campground
From Conway, NH take State Rte. 112 west 6 miles to campground.
Campground is located in rather old established woods many large hardwoods, due to assess through covered bridge RV's are limited to heights of 8'2". No flush toilet, no showers, Fishing in the Swift river. Wading and swimming in the Swift River .

Wild River Campground
Rte. 113 3 miles south of Rte. 2 on Forest Road Rte. 12 go southwest on Rte. 12 5 miles of dirt road to campground. No flush toilet, no showers. Mid April through mid October. Wading is available in the Wild River .

Dolly Copp Campground
From Gorham, NH Pinkham Notch, take Rte. 16 South 6 miles to campground. Mid April through mid October. Flush Toilets, no hot showers, many hiking trails. Mts. Washington Auto, Storyland, are nearby. There is an amphitheatre on the campground and nature programs on the weekends. Wading in the stream. Wheelchair friendly.

Hancock Campground
Take exit 32 off interstate 93 3 miles through Lincoln, NH. Kancamagus byway 6 mile east of Lincoln. Fishing & Hiking with a unique swimming hole. Open year round. No flush toilet, no showers. Wheelchair friendly.

From Lincoln, NH take Rt 112 east 5.5 miles to campground. Kancamagus byway 6 mile east of Lincoln. Fishing & Hiking. Open year round No flush toilet, no showers.

Russell Pond Campground (Our Review)
From interstate 93 , take exit 31. At end of exit ramp turn left (east) to Tripoli Rd. to Campground. The campground is located next to Russel Pond in hardwoods trees. Open mid-May through mid-October. Flush toilets and coin operated showers, There is swimming, boating (no power) fishing rainbow trout stocked in Russell Pond.

Wildwood Campground
From North Woodstock, NH take Rt. 112 northwest to campground. Open mid-May through mid-October. No flush toilet, no showers.

Basin Campground
From Conway, NH or Fryebury, Me take Rte. 113 north to campground. Open mid-May through mid-October. Flush toilets but no showers, Basin pond is nearby for swimming and fishing (Stocked trout, license required) Hiking is available on Basin Trail. A total of 20 sites.

Cold River Campground
North of Fryeburg ME 15 miles on Rte 113
