Urquhart Castle sits on the banks of Loch Ness.  Urquhart witnessed considerable conflict throughout its 500 years as a medieval fortress. 

Glamis Castle has been a residence of the Earls of Strathmore and Kinghorne since 1372.  It was the childhood home of the Queen Mother.
