River Conservation Groups Object to PG&E Reorganization Plan, December 7, 2001

A coalition of nine river conservation groups filed papers today with the US Bankruptcy Court in San Francisco to protest Pacific Gas & Electric Company's proposed plan of reorganization.

CSPA Impacted by Terrorism, Sept. 2001

Excerpted from San Francisco Chronicle

Alan Beaven, 48, was a dedicated attorney with a law firm on California Street in San Francisco who battled for cleaner water on behalf of
California sport fishermen.

Beaven, a passenger on Flight 93, was returning to California to prepare for a clean-water case in Sacramento, said Joseph Tabacco Jr., a
partner in the firm of Berman DeValerio Pease Tabacco Burt & Pucillo.

"He was committed to the environment, he was committed to clean water, he wanted to make sure that people who were polluting streams and
rivers stopped doing it," said Jim Crenshaw, president of the California Sportfishing Protection Alliance.

"He wanted to make the world a better place."

Beaven was about to take a year's sabbatical to move to Bombay and perform volunteer work for world peace and tolerance on behalf of the
Syda Foundation, which promotes yoga and meditation, two of Beaven's passions.

We lost a great eco warrior and fine human being. He'll be sorely missed! -John Beuttler
