DFG Press Release, JAN 12 1999. FALL RIVER MILLS LOCAL PAPER (THE MT.ECHO)

PILOT DREDGING PROJECT: The purpose of a dredging project would be to remove the highly mobile recent sandy sediment that has decimated the Fall River aquatic vegetation and insect ecosystem and severely impacted the wild trout fishery that depends upon it. The goal would be to restore the channel to conditions found in the early 1980's prior to the sedimentation problem.
