Christopher's DSP Page Back to Christopher's Home Page 20 April 2001

Note: this page is heavily biased towards audio-specific applications of DSP, since that is my area of interest.

DSP FAQs, source archives, book reviews, etc.

The comp.dsp FAQ -- answers questions about everything from theory to software.

Iowegian's dspGuru -- featuring FAQs, tricks, source code, books, etc.

The Music-DSP email list homepage -- has instructions on how to subscribe, a FAQ, a mailing list archive, a source code archive, books reviews, links, etc.

Julius O. Smith's Digital Audio Resampling Home Page -- info. on an approach to sample rate conversion.

Harmony Central's Audio Programming page -- lots of code, tools, resources, references, etc. for writing code to manipulate audio.

DSP-related Open/Free Software

OpenDSP -- "OpenDSP (sm) is dspGuru's initiative to promote the use of "open" software within the DSP development community. DSP developers already use open software, of course, but it can be hard to find, and it does not always meet developers needs in a systematic way. We hope to change all that." [OpenDSP includes reviews of (and links to) several free MATLAB clones.]

SoX - Sound eXchange -- "the swiss army knife of sound processing programs. SoX is a command line utility that can convert various formats of computer audio files in to other formats. It can also apply various effects to these sound files during the conversion. As an added bonus, SoX can play and record audio files on several unix style platforms." [And, as another added bonus, you can download the source code.]

DSP-related Commercial Software

MathWorks -- makers of MATLAB and Simulink
