This is the first engine of the NoLTC. It is a General Motors Electromotive Division SD40-2. Since it is an SD engine it has a two three axle trucks. This engine was specially ordered from GM with a steerable truck (to make it around the tight LEGO® track curves the 3 axle wheelset pivots). Details include working fans, headlights, and cab lights. More information and views of the SD40-2 can be seen here. |

Here is engine number two. This is a GP30. One new technique I used on this engine is the combination of 1x2x1 thin walls (also called panels by some), 1x2 with center stud plates, and inverted slopes to transition from a 5-wide body to a 6-wide top. this model also includes working fans and cab lights. You can see more pictures and some construction details for the model here. |

This model is a substantial redesign of LEGO's Super Chief engine, and it includes

Here is engine number three. This is an American Class
4-4-0 wood burning steam engine. The driver wheels are
custom made by Big
Ben Bricks, and even though they aren't LEGO they are
the best thing around for making steam engines out of
LEGO. |
