The trail in the Des Plaines Division begins at Touhy Ave., where it connects with the Indian Boundary Division trail, and continues northward up the river valley and ends at the Dam No. 1 picnic area -- a total length of 10 miles -- although hikers may continue to the Lake Cook county line, 2 miles further.
