8/24/02  Answer to Prayer received  yesterday:

Encouraging news regarding (a sister in Christ, Prayer Requests, 8/9/02)

As far as the test which (a sister in Christ) is taking, God showed His Glory in the absence of metastasis to bones and in other organs. The Lord has also encouraged our faith through the oncological visit in which the head physician has certified the passing of every anomaly to the lymph nodes. Previously there had been found two large tumorous lymph nodes. They were under the armpit of which one of 1 and 1/4 inches of dimension. We saw also an improvement to the breast that would be already "inoperable", which only a few days ago was absolutely unthinkable. We have God's peace in our hearts.

We continue to pray for a complete healing for (a sister in Christ), to God's Glory. We know that you are with us with your prayers and intercessions.

8/15/02: A regular visitor to this site, wrote and commented:

"As you know since I came across your web pages a few years ago. I have considered what you say and feel that as regards this subject (asteroid collisions) you are very probably right.  I have read a lot of what has been posted by the scientists and you know all their talk is mainly of finding these asteroids and then sending something up to move them out of the way. There is virtually no talk of how we would cope with an actual impact. Linked to this is the way the press treat such stories as you referred to, making them into a bit of joke."

I wonder if this is Satan, call him what you will, trying to deflect us even further from God and keep us blind to what is happening.

The author's response is:

The worldly attitude toward the asteroid threat, is understandable in a way. There have actually been several asteroid collision scares in the past few years, all of which have been false alarms, and I can see how people in the media would begin to think the danger is not real. It is also a fact that the official scientific position on the probability of such an event is that it is very small. I acknowledge that this is so in my “A Mountain Burning With Fire” page. We can expect that it will happen soon because it will be the fulfillment of Prophecy.

On the other hand, to some extent the attitude is a manifestation of the human tendency to ignore God’s warnings. I discuss this in the page...

The Best To You In Warning.

I might add that “coping” with the results of a collision such as the Bible prophesies would be akin to coping with the aftermath of a total nuclear war. No nation could maintain the means to deal with it. On the other hand, the movie “Deep Impact” showed a realistic scenario of what probably would be done if it was known that a major collision was coming. In the movie, the United States took steps to see that enough people would survive, with the necessary skills, equipment and supplies, to restart civilization when the aftermath was over. That was done with the premise that they had two years warning. If we had, as I suspect, exactly one day’s warning, it would be too late to do that. As the possibility applies to the here and now, It would be hard to sell the idea of making such preparations to the taxpayers if they do not believe a collision is imminent. I am sure that it is the Lord’s will that the collision will take the world by surprise.

8/11/02. A person who identified himself with the username "revlatrielle" wrote, introducing himself with the pronouncement;

"I now more than you about the beast and where it coming out....Do you know what happen in November 1999, regarding the light beam. Do you know what coming out of Canada?"

The author's response is:

No, but I am sure it is not the Beast of Revelation. In my page...

"What Should We Expect?",

I maintain that events in the United States of America will have little if anything to do with the events related to the Second Coming of Christ. The same thing goes for Canada.

On the other hand, though I did not bother investigating, for reasons stated below, I can believe that something supernatural took place in Canada in November 1999, which this brother erroneously connects with the Beast of Revelation. You will remember that the Lord Jesus warned us (Matthew 24:23-25, NIV)...

23 At that time if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or, 'There he is!' do not believe it.
24
For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect-- if that were possible.*
25
See, I have told you ahead of time.

*These words can be, and probably should be, translated "
whenever possible".

Note that He implied that there would be many false Christs. We should not be surprised when we see them. More than that, He implies that their being able to do things of a miraculous nature will be quite common. We should not be impressed. Above all, we should not leap to the conclusion that a person is the Beast because he can "perform great signs".

More than that, we should not be mislead into focusing our attention on them, even from the viewpoint of Christian ministry. Remember that Jesus also said, in Luke 17:23, a related passage,

23 And they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after them, nor follow them. (KJV)

This of course means that we should not be misled into believing in them. However, the original Greek suggests that the verse can also be taken to mean that we should not go after them in the sense of directly attacking them, either. If we in anyway focus our attention on one of them, it opens us up to be deceived. Unfortunately, that is what has obviously happened to this brother, and he is not the first such case I have encountered.

Keep your eyes on Jesus.

A Testimony:

The very existence of Bread Upon The Waters Ministry, this Web site, and the International Prayer Network are the answers to many prayers. Now, there are steadily increasing numbers of Christians who are actively participating in passing the Message on, and supporting each other and the overall ministry in prayer. This, of course, will result in many testimonies to how God is working in their lives and in the ministry. This page is included to share these testimonies with, first of all, the members, and beyond that, anyone who visits this site. May it give glory to God, encouragement to all the members, and perhaps motivate others to participate.
