Family

I live with my younger sister, who also shares a preoccupation with being a college radio DJ. We tend to sit around and geek about indie music, modern art and Japanese food. My younger brother lives in California where he holds a dream job playing video games and writing about them. My older sister works in New York City as a literary agent and is partially responsible for making David Sedaris think that I'm cute.

Boston -- yeah, it's long. deal.

  • Bridget leads the pack as my best friend and partner-in-crime
  • Ann is Bridget's best friend and writes one of the finest journals you'll ever find.
  • M used to live with Ann and Bridget, and hosts a neat little film geek community on LJ.
  • Tony and Jason are my old roommates, proving that bonds can last longer than addresses. Tony also dates a girl with an amazingly kinetic mind.
  • Jen is an old friend from my college years and possesses one of the most conscientious souls that I've ever known. Her husband is also one of the nicest trash-talkers you'll ever meet.
  • Fred embodies the ideal of being intelligent, erudite and brilliantly articulate without being pretentious.
  • Joseph has been maintaining a web journal longer than anyone I've known and is always the standard by which I measure others.
  • I used to work with Mr. Mvoid who is a kickass musician overturning the starving artist cliche by being an equally kickass programmer.
  • Liza doesn't update her site as much as she should, but her boy has just gotten on the journalling bandwagon, so that should make up for it.
  • Q is (according to Bridget) the man that I will someday marry (and we'll have beautiful children together, apparently). He shares an apartment with SilentQ, one of my fellow Canadians.
  • Chris always seems up for adventures, cookouts and en masse movie watching.
  • Atalanta and I share too many musical skeletons from our raver past. She lives with Mr Zero, one of the most charming right-wingers I know.
  • G is a relatively new acquaintance who constantly amazes me with her courage and strength of character. Her friend Liz continuously enthralls me with her lurid tales of hot girl-on-girl action.
  • Another Liz sings for a promising local band and hopefully someday I'll get to actually see her perform.
  • I used to work in the same failed dot-com dream with Jackdaw. Hopefully, we'll get a chance to work together on something longer-lived.
  • Paisley says she holds me as her yardstick for certain things, but doesn't know that I have her as a standard for others.
  • Catalyst is always a good person to talk to when you're feeling like being a cynical bastard.
  • The Lad and his lady are two other new acquaintances that I hope to get to know better.
  • J is simply one of the nicest people I know, and every conversation I've had with her has been a pleasure.
  • P always makes me miss my teenage years.

Boston Ex-Pats in San Francisco

  • John is an old friend that moved out to San Francisco. I always look forward to hanging out with him whenever I come over to visit.
  • Da5id and Jen are my rockstar acquaintances.
  • Jinn is an old friend from college who I can always count on for dinner and cup of coffee.

The Vancouver Old Boys

  • Meng is my junior year roommate and every bit of computer geekery can be traced to his influence.
  • I mentioned Kalev somewhere in my journal. It's up to you to find out where.

The Others

  • WriterGirl is an old online pal from way back and currently writes for a Really Cool Weekly when she isn't busy updating her adoring audience on life in The Big City.
  • Adam stayed over at my place when he was visiting Boston in the summer and was one of the nicest house guests I've had the pleasure of hosting. He writes beautiful, passionate, evocative prose on his journal.
  • Dethany left Boston for hardcore digs in Detroit. She's the finest visual artist that I've ever hung out with and you should check out her work. Like right now.
