In this special talk, Kari Mashos discusses the dependable healing power of Christ’s Christianity.  She helps the audience understand the spiritual Christianity that restores health.  She says, “Buildings of great cultural significance, like the Acropolis in Athens, draw visitors from around the world to admire their historical importance, as well as their beauty and ingenuity. I love seeing the Acropolis every time I go home to Athens, but what’s really captured my attention is the careful restoration of its monuments.

“Restoration is a theme that most of us can relate to. Whether it’s the restoration of a relationship, financial restoration after a hardship, or a restoration of our bodies, the desire to bring some aspect of our lives back to wholeness is a fairly universal one. But is restoration always possible? And if so, how?

“Through my study of the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy—the textbook of Christian Science, which has helped me understand the practicality and spiritual significance of the Bible—I’ve learned that the restoration of our bodies and lives is actually completely natural. Yet unlike the restoration of the Acropolis, this spiritual restoration—the regeneration of our lives through the power of God—is not the effort to bring back an object to a close version of its original. Instead, the divine healing method that restores lives is a spiritual awakening. This holy inspiration does not restore us from a lost state; instead, it is the revelation that we can never lose what our divine, loving Father gives us: health, wholeness, peace.

“In this lecture, I’ll share healings from my own life that shed more light on this spiritual approach to restoration, and on the system of healing that allows each of us to feel more of the regenerating power of God in our lives: Christian Science.”

ABOUT CUSHING CHAPEL

Cushing Memorial Chapel is located in Tercentennial Park on Dudley Road in Framingham, across the street from Farm Pond Park.   Veterans are familiar with Cushing Chapel as part of a former military hospital.  Special services honoring veterans are held at the chapel each year on Veteran's Day. You can visit framingham.com to learn more about the history of Cushing Chapel.

DIRECTIONS TO CUSHING CHAPEL

From the West (I-90):  Take Interstate Highway 90 to Exit 12.  On the exit ramp, bear right onto Route 9 East and go 2.5 miles through several stoplights.  Turn right onto Winter Street and go 1 block to a stoplight.  Go through the stoplight and then go almost 1 mile along Winter Street.  Then turn left onto Dr. Harvey L. Cushing Way.   Go almost a half mile and turn right into the Cushing Chapel parking lot on the corner with Dudley Road.

From the East (I-90): Take Interstate Highway 90 to Exit 13.  On the exit ramp, bear right onto Route 30 West and go 3.1 miles.  Bear right onto Route 9 West and go 0.3 mile.  Bear right onto the off-ramp at Trolley Square for Edgell Road.  Take the ramp up to the stoplight at Edgell Road.  Turn left onto Edgell Road and proceed across the bridge where immediately there is another stoplight and Edgell Road turns into Main Street.  Go 0.2 mile (through another stoplight) to a roundabout where Main Street turns into Union Avenue.  Take Union Avenue for a half mile to another stoplight.   Turn right onto Mt. Wayte Avenue and go 0.7 mile (through another stoplight).  Along the way Mt. Wayte Avenue turns into Dudley Rd.  When you reach Dr. Harvey L. Cushing Way, turn right and then left into the Cushing Chapel parking lot.

Electronic Locators:  If you use MapQuest, Google Maps, or a GPS device to find your way, we recommend the address 1 Dr. Harvey L. Cushing Way as your destination to take you close to the Cushing Chapel parking lot.  (Using the chapel address of 60 Dudley Rd. seems to take you a block north of the proper location.)  MapQuest Location
