Save these Dates!   Brochures will be sent to you for the following events:   World Breastfeeding Event Connecticut Children's Medical Center August 1, 2001 Conference Rooms C & D 9:30a.m- 11:30a.m Theme: Breastfeeding In The Information Age This year's theme underscores the importance of transforming and conveying the facts of breastfeeding via all available forms of communication including radio, television, the Internet, video, newspapers, cartoons, story telling, music, drama, role playing, and billboards. The event at Connecticut Children's Medical Center will not only emphasize communication in all forms, but will also concentrate on the legislative forum and our success there this year Goals of 2001 World Breastfeeding Week: Highlight effective uses of all modes of communication Emphasize core breastfeeding information Share ideas and experiences on communicating challenging issues Provide and stimulate more innovative and helpful approaches to support breastfeeding mothers Schedule of Events: Opening remarks- Larry Gold, President and CEO, CCMC Introductory remarks- Kathie Marinelli, MD, IBCLC Acknowledgement of collaborating organizations and agencies Introduction of distinguished guests Remarks by Honorary Chairs Susan Raff, Channel 3 News Reporter and Jim Amann, State Representative Presentation of Recognition Awards for participation in legislative efforts Presentation of Governor Rowland's Proclamation Mothers and Families walk around Connecticut Children's Medical Center campus in support of breastfeeding We will provide refreshments, displays and time for interaction with attendees.
