Without warning, on April 2, 2008, we lost one of our dearest family members, Ch. Briden's Givin 'Em Attitude, know to us as Adelina or "Addie". Addie was a dynamo packed into a small space, tipping the scales at just over 9lbs in her heyday, yet she showed with an enthusiasm that never let down.

Bred by Elizabeth Vinacco in Fort Meyers, Florida, Adelina arrived in Boston on a hot August day when she was four months of age. From the first moment I saw Addie in person, I knew she would be a Champion. Little did I know she would finish her career as one of the top winning bitches in 1996, and placing among the Top 30 Shih Tzu in the United States. At one point, she even took Best of Breed over the then, number one Shih Tzu in the country.

However, Adelina was not finished then. In the whelping box, Addie was a free whelper, a good mother and the producer of three AKC champions and a fourth that needed but one 3 pt. major to finish as well. Her son, Ch. Madrigal's Makin' My Point, won two Specialty Sweepstakes (one, at the Shih Tzu Club of Northern New Jersey, he beat 70 other puppies under expert and long time fancier, Joanne White), was Winner's Dog at the 1999 Puritan Shih Tzu Club and its Best in Sweepstakes as well. Her two Champion daughters, Ch. Madrigal's Ev'ry Little Breeze and Ch. Madrigal's Whatever Lila Wants exhibited their mother's typiness as well as her verve for showing. "Bratty Addie's" companion children remain in many homes today, providing joy and companionship to many wonderful people.

She was the light of my life and a dear, sweet presence that is already missed so deeply. Goodbye my sweet girl, thank you for the many years of happiness you brought me and so many others through your children. It is comforting to know you are at peace and that you are carried on in the genes of many of the Madrigal dogs, past and you will be part of the future, too, within them.
I love you very much.
