DING DONG!

DIVX is dead!

DIVX is dead! DIVX is no more. It's being pulled from the shelves. The format once thought to reign with Open DVD has FAILED! Let Open DVD reign forever!

DIVX is...WAS a format, similar to DVD in the case where the movie was on a CD type thing. Only thing is, the player cost about $400. Each movie costs $5, it seems like a good thing, but when you bring it home, you've got 48 hours to watch it. Afterwards, you have to submit your credit card and pay an addition $3 to get another 48 hour block. It's a running clock by the way.

DVD lovers were furious because many producers put their movies on DIVX instead of DVD, but they knew their ways before they suffered much loss.

For those with DIVX players, I'm sorry that you had to make the wrong choice, I'm sorry I'm gloating because the machine you paid $400 is worthless for its original cause. Go to http://www.divx.com and there you will find detailed instructions on how to get a $100 rebate. Plus, you'll find out exactly how much money Circuit City lost, it's over $100 million! Your players can play Open DVD as always, so, have fun.
