A Message from THAW (Theaters Against War):

On Sunday, July 13th in Central Park, there will be a Strange Picnic to which you are enthusiastically invited to participate.  The picnic will start at 2 PM on a picnic lawn across from the Delacourt Theatre box office, located on the west side of The Great Lawn. Performers, activists, and everyday people are invited to come and picnic with a blanket, food, friends, and a creative act on the theme of Oppression.  The picnic will start at 2 PM.  Actions will take place on your blanket, whenever you want, however many times you want--in between relaxing, eating, and meeting others at the picnic.  Perhaps you will need to ask other picnickers to join in your act--anything is possible.

Strange Picnic is a political theatre action, a social event, and a big experiment.  Bring your good will,  your opinions, a creative act, a blanket, and some food.  Join in the fun.  Musical instruments UN amplified are fine.

(As the Kairos Theatre effort for the Strange Picnic, we're going to be playing music of oppression. Bring a guitar, a harmonica, a ukulele, a tambourine, a drum, a marimba, and/or a voice. We'll be covering some famous 'songs of oppression' and you can download lyrics and information to the left and sing and play along with us!)
