Location and Activities
Mi Wuk Village (population 500, elevation 4,500) is about 15 miles east of Sonora on Highway 108, which leads over the Sonora Pass to Highway 395 and Bridgeport in the Eastern Sierra. Mi Wuk has a good convenience store and a few restaurants; there are gas stations/garages, sporting-good stores and more restaurants within three miles. Pinecrest Lake and Dodge Ridge ski area are about 17 miles east, and Twain Harte is about 5 miles west. Twain Harte has a supermarket, small shopping center and restaurants, while Sonora has an old Mother Lode downtown with boutiques and restaurants, with a large commercial area on its outskirts. Sonora is the county seat, with courthouse, hospital, historical museum, library and community theatre.

Hiking: Hours of hiking/mountain biking right at the cabin, including secluded access to North Fork of Tuolumne River. Many trails nearby east (high country) and west (Mother Lode). Additional trail information at Mi Wuk Ranger Station (1 mile)
