1793...1809 - Taxed for 67 acres in Madison Co., Va. {3JKB67} This, however, is not verifiable by 2JKB16, and seems to be in conflict with some of the following.

24 Sep 1795 - Michael and wife Elizabeth of Madison Co., sell 109 acres on north side of White Oak Run, to Henry Price of Culpeper Co. {3JKB67}

17 Sep 1798 - Michael and Elizabeth, of Culpeper Co., sell 150 acres to Zachariah Petty, in Madison and Culpeper Counties, joining Henry Aylor. {3JKB67}

1799 - He is taxed in Lincoln Co., Ky. {8BFN100}

- They moved to Mercer Co., Ky.

8 Oct 1800 - Michael certifies that his sister Nancy is 21, for marriage to Barnett Wilhite in Mercer Co., Ky.

1803 - In Mercer Co., Ky. Michael is taxed for 140 acres on Chaplain's Creek. {3JKB67}

1810 - Michael Briles is listed on the Mercer Co., Ky., census rolls. {7:133}

1811 - Michael sells land to heirs of William McGinnes. Mercer Co., Ky. {3JKB67}

18 Mar 1812 - Michael Broils is bondsman for the marriage of Thomas Broyles. Mercer Co., Ky. {5JKB77}

1815 - Michael buys back above land at sheriff's sale. Mercer Co., Ky. {3JKB67}

1820 - Michael Briles appears on the Mercer Co., Ky. census rolls. {26:87}

1825 - His acreage is given as 235. Mercer Co. {3JKB67}

1830 - Michael Broyles is on the Mercer Co., Ky. census rolls. {39:329}

14 Oct 1833 - Michael and wife Elizabeth sell to Alexander Broyles 55 acres on Chaplain's Creek, joining John Broyles. This may mark Alexander's marriage, or their leaving for Indiana. {3JKB67}

- They move to Parke Co., Ind.

1840 - Michael Broyles is in the Parke Co., Ind., census. This is an unexpected listing - there are 3 boys aged 10-20, and a young girl aged 10-15, as well as Michael and his new wife and baby daughter. The ages of the teenagers correspond exactly to the ages of his son John's children, and no 1840 census entry for John has been located anywhere. {89:140}

1850 - Michael is listed in the Parke Co., Ind., census. {164:242}

6 Jun 1872 - Several heirs of Michael Broyles, dec'd, of Indiana assign power of attorney to Willis Green Broyles, Michael's grandson, to pay them their inheritance. {3JKB67}
