- William is living in Campbell Co., TN.

1829...1850 - William is on the tax list of Whitley Co., KY. He lived in several places in the county over the years. His first home is given as on the Clear Fork. It was purchased from Rhodes Nuckles. He then moved to Young's Creek prior to 1835, and finally settled on Marsh Creek prior to 1850.

3 Mar 1836 - William Hays, Nathan Cox, and William Perkins, administrators of Jabez Perkins, sign the estate appraisal. [142]:39

30 Dec 1847 - Daniel Morgan names William Hase "to see that my plunder is taken care of" in a non-cupative will witnessed by John K. Martin and William Higginbotham. [142]:64

1850 - William gives his occupation as Methodist Clergyman in the census.

1 May 1852 - The estate sale of Elizabeth Holt, widow of Drury, was held. William Hayse was one of the purchasers. [142]:107

18 Nov 1771 - Mary Catherine Broyle, Adam Broile, Matthias and Eva Broile sell 166 acres on the Robinson River to John Glassell. {5JKB103} Culpeper Co., Va. This land is probably some of their inheritance.

15 Feb 1773 - Mathias Broile buys 235 acres from Adam and Mary Broile. {2JKB83} Culpeper Co., Va.

20 Mar 1775 - Mathis Broyle, John Broyle and wife Margaret, Adam Broyle and wife Mary Catherine Broyle sell 70 acres to John Glassell of Culpeper Co. {6JKB105} This appears to be sale of more of their inheritance.

18 Sep 1775 - Estate of Rev. George Samuel Klug mentions son-in-law Matthias Broile. Matthias receives 1/9 of 2/3 of the estate because he "intermarried with the daughters of the dec'd." {Culpeper Co., Va. Will Books B&C}

7 Dec 1777 - Matheus Breil was a sponsor at the baptism of Elizabeth Wilheit, with Jacob Breil, Maria Breilin, and Dorothea Breilin. {6JKB105}

15 Feb 1779 - Matthias Broyle and Eva sell 1773 land to Gabriel Lang. {4JKB24} This probably marks their departure for Tennessee.

25 Aug 1797 - Matthias Broyles, Sr. buys 524 acres from Thomas Williamson on south side of Nolachucky. wit: Charles Trobough, Matthias Broyls. {8:176}

1798 - Mathew Broyles is taxed for 874 acres, Horse Creek, Greene Co., Tenn. {6JKB105}

6 Aug 1798 - Mathias Broyles and Conrad Willhight "of Washington County" sell to Rich's Humphreys, land joining Frances Hues, for $933.00 {6JKB105}

6 Aug 1798 - Same to Rich's Humphreys, 200 acres in Washington Co., on south side of Nolachucky, joining John Waddell. {6JKB105}

10 Dec 1798 - Matthias witnesses the will of Jacob Broyles (his brother) in Greene Co., Tenn. {Burgner, "Wills", 1}

22 Apr 1799 - Mathias Broyls sells 75 acres to John Bird, lying on Horse Creek. wit: Thomas Prather, Joel Bird, Thomas Broyles. {Greene Co., 4:369}

1800 - He is taxed for 871 acres. {6JKB105}

18 Dec 1800 - Matthias sells 132 acres to son Matthias "for affection to his son". {8:9} And 14 acres. {8:132}

19 Dec 1800 - Matthias Broyles, Sr. sells to Matthias Broyles, Jr. 87 acres on Horse Creek, joining John Broils. wit: Jeremiah Broyles. {6JKB105}

10 Jun 1801 - Michael Broyles and wife Elizabeth, Matthias Broyles and wife Eve, all of Greene Co., Tenn., said Elizabeth and Eve Klug (sic) being heirs of Susanna Medley, formerly Susanna Klug, dec'd, appoint William Lotspeeck of Stafford Co., Va. as attorney. {5JKB119}

1805 - Matthias is on the Greene Co. tax list, though this may be his son Matthias. {Curtis}

1806 - He is taxed for 400 acres on Horse Creek. {6JKB105}

- Matthias moves to Harrison Co., Ind. He is certainly one of the first Broyles to make that move, along with his nephew Tobias.

1812 - Matthias is not on the Greene Co. tax list. {Curtis}

1818 - Matthias is killed by lightning on a return trip from Indiana.

Mar 1818 - Mathias Broyles, administrator, presents the estate of Mathias Broils, Sen.

Mar 1818 - Jacob Fox paid the estate of Matthias $50. Jacob Hoover paid $75. {6JKB106}

- The estate was taken to Rutherford Co., Tenn. where Mathias Jr. was living.
