1810 - Thomas is listed as head of household in the census of Madison Co., Va. He and his wife have a young daughter and one slave. {69:376}

c. 1811 - They settled in Mercer Co., Ky.

18 Mar 1812 - Thomas Broils and Michael Broils sign a £50 bond for Thomas's marriage to Lucy Broiles, Mercer Co., Ky. {5JKB77} It is interesting that Lucy Broyles made the trip to Kentucky, since she was reared in Culpeper Co., Va., and her father never made the trip out west.
