(ok, ok, it's a shameless, money-grubbing plug.  But hell, I gotta pay my bills somehow!)

NOTE:
Please be aware that this series is set in a continuity independent of the Virgin and BBC original novels.  The reason for this is simply because I have not read most of them (c'mon!  At this point there are almost 200 of them, and there are a lot more things out there to read than DW!), and so consequently I am not as familiar with their continuity.  Therefore, I have elected to completely ignore them, although I suppose I may at some point rewrite the series in order to make it more compatible with those novels.  For the time being the default I use is strictly the original television series.  And yes, I am aware that there is a minor continuity problem between this series and the 1996 TVM; please bear with me, as this too will be taken care of in due course.

Comments are, of course, always appreciated.  Even bad comments.  Honest.  Just be forewarned: if you choose to flame me, I reserve the right to make an appropriate response.

Doctor Who: Phoenix (130k)
This story was written as a script, and started out as mostly an experiment in writing.  Unfortunatley, due to some severe time restraints, it was never quite finished.  However, it is an important foundation for the rest of this series, because the events in this story have a direct impact on both the characters and the situations they find themselves in.  NOTE: Because this story is somewhat fragmentary; sections that were never completed have been filled in with italicised paragraphs summarizing the missing events.

Phase One: Phoenix Redux

  • Some Fragmenta and alternate versions of these stories can be found on the Fiction -- Misc. page.
  • And just to be unusual, tel-Varesh has even dropped by the This Time Round once or twice.
  • Split Infinitives -- A fistful of Adric's! (sequel to stories by Paul Gadzikowsky & B.K. Willis)

  • The Characters:

tel-Varesh -- A former companion of the Doctor's... but that was a very long time ago.  Since then he has tried to distance himself from those acquaintences of old, changing his name and purposely keeping to the shadows and out of sight, only emerging when an even older enemy (of his and the Doctor's) comes into sight.  Bitter and disillusioned, fate has not been kind to him and the years have begun to take their toll...

Nyssa (of Traken) -- A native of the semi-mythical planet Traken, and one of its few survivors.  Once the Doctor's companion, she is now the Administrator for Terminus Medical Station.  She is also one of the few links left to a past that tel-Varesh has spent more than a decade running away from.

Kal (Calvin James Stewart) -- A friend of tel-Varesh's, and a crewmember aboard the Blue Star Twice (and later, the Blue Star Thrice).  Rescued by tel-Varesh during a "botched operation" of the Master's, Kal has joined in the ongoing vendetta against that timelord.  Accomplished engineer, native of the planet Earth.

Vik (Viktrolrancholandra) -- Another friend of tel-Varesh's, and also a crewmember aboard the Blue Star Twice & Thrice.  Like Kal, she joined tel-Varesh's vendetta after being on the receiving end of one of the Master's operations.  Trained mercenary and native of the planet Ishtar.  Will only go by the name of "Vik", and refuses to acknowledge the longer form of her name.

SELDON -- The Blue Star Twice & Thrice's AI computer.  Frequently takes commands too literally, and has a habit of providing far more data than that which is requested.

The Doctor -- Timelord from the planet Gallifrey.

The Master -- Timelord from the planet Gallifrey.  Sadistic and power hunger.  The Doctor's arch enemy.

    FLAMES!!!!
Hey!  I've actually gotten FLAMED for these stories!  Why it is that some people feel offended that I should write about these characters is beyond me, but apparently some do.  It's Make Believe, people!  If you don't like it, Go Somewhere Else!  (My comments are added in rebuttal).
