My first entry into the world of children's literature. Working with my mother, we went to WRGB in Schenectady, New York to see how a television newscast is put together. My background in broadcast journalism helped prepare me for this book. I actually got play reporter one day. A call came in on the scanner that a gas truck had exploded just outside of town. The news director wanted to get some video of it, but all the news trucks were out on other stories. DAVE TO THE RESCUE!!! I told the reporter and the cameraman to hop into my rental car and we took off like bandits. A New York cabbie couldn't have touched me on that day.
