This quilt is one of a series of four depicting conservation areas in four seasons. Although this quilt represents the look of winter, it was really inspired by an April Fool’s Day snowstorm on Mt. Pollux. That day there were yellow gold finches and many other spring birds cavorting in the snow. The tracks include those of a porcupine, deer, squirrel, raccoon and meadow mouse, as well as of my cat and dog. (Hand quilting by Janet Hale, Whately, MA.)
