Thoughts of Home This quilt was painted while I was living in Texas and hoping to move to Massachusetts. The coastline from Boston Harbor to the Elizabeth Islands includes the most recognizable parts of Massachusetts from the air. The whale identifies the edge of the continental shelf, where whale watching occurs. The small panels depict the hills of Fitchburg, my home town; a trout, my father's favorite fish; and Hurricane Bob, which we experienced first hand. (Hand quilting by Janet Hale, Whately, MA.)
