WavingDuke for Waba
by Dino Morelli
WavingDuke is the ubiquitous Java animation program featuring Sun's Java mascot, Duke.
I was going around at work showing everyone I know the Waba VM running some boring Hello World app. Half of everyone I showed was unimpressed. So I decided that if I put Duke on there, it would scream "Java!" to everyone who saw it. And it's true, people are more "wowed" by this.
Tap on Duke to make him stop and start animating. Speed of the animation can be set on the Settings tab. The About tab has info about me and the Waba VM.

WavingDuke is available for the PalmPilot and Windows CE.
To run WavingDuke on one of these devices, you will need a Waba Virtual
Machine. You can download a WabaVM by pressing the button below.

WavingDuke on the Web
I'm having trouble getting WavingDuke to run as an applet in this page. When I get it working, I'll put it here.
WavingDuke for the PalmPilot
To run WavingDuke on the PalmPilot, download this file:
WavingDuke-palm.zip (size: 7K/17k installed)
and extract the WavingDuke.prc and WavingDuke.pdb files.
Then install them on your PalmPilot using the "PalmPilot
Install Tool" program.
WavingDuke for Windows CE
To run WavingDuke on your Windows CE device, download this file:
(NOTE: Someone let me know if this doesn't work. I have no way of testing it myself. Thanks)
WavingDuke-wince.zip (size: 6K/unknown size installed, I don't have a WinCE machine)
and extract the WavingDuke.lnk and WavingDuke.wrp files.
Then:
- create a directory "\Program Files\WavingDuke" on your CE device.
- copy WavingDuke.wrp into that directory.
- copy the WavingDuke.lnk file into "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs".
The WavingDuke program will appear in your Start menu under Programs.
