Back Up Next

Today we went to the Baby Home to see Anzheela. She's 4 1/2 years old and a little doll. She is very shy when it comes to speaking, but really liked hanging out with Valerie. We had a local pediatrician give her a check up and review her medical information and all seemed fine. She's been in the baby home since she was 3 and her birth mother passed away at the age of 22. I can't post any photos of her here right now, but they will be coming. You guys would be proud of me. I was out strolling Tverskaya Ulitsa near Pushkin Square and got stopped by the Moscow Police. They asked me for "documenti". So I took out my passport. Then they asked me for "registratzia" and I showed them I was registered as a visitor to Moscow. Then they asked me for something else and I replied "Ya nyeponeemayou" and at that point the sighed with disappointment that I couldn't understand everything they were saying and they wouldn't be able to "fine" me for something. They saluted and said "da svidania". What a trip that was. In Moscow they can stop anyone, anywhere, anytime and ask for "documenti". If you don't have what they want, they can issue you a fine to be paid on the spot.  We also ended up getting caught in a snow squall walking back from dinner. Oh well, it is Moscow and it's only mid April.

Looking in two different directions on Tverskaya Ulitsa about a block from the Marriott Grand. The Marriott Tverskaya is about 6 blocks down on the first picture. Tverskaya Ulitsa is the main street of shopping in Moscow.
