The play, now was through. Op'ning night was
completed.
My mood of last year was, thank God, not
repeated!
The show, though, just seen did commit some
offenses;
which throughout the night, did stir up my
defenses!
Purveyors of Nonsense, those poets
portrayed, thus.
Now, that hurt my feelings. So foolish you
made us!
But with that exception established
and stated,
the rest I enjoyed; it was fun,
unabated.
The singing, so joyous. The dancing,
so active.
Amidst this, my neighbor; so stunning
--attractive!
The best part, the climax; which happened
so rightly,
'twas, after the show, I could hug you
so tightly!
For only a moment, with no
inhibition,
we hugged. It was well worth the price
of admission!
Then, driving, hence, homeward (a fine
destination)
I sensed a soft fragrance, so brief
in duration.
Again, I did whiff. And I instantly
knew, gal,
the scent I was knowing was given by
you, pal!
I smiled on that journey of late Friday
driving.
Each sniff and my mem-o-ry clearly was
thriving.
The joy from reliving our hug, it was
quite full!
Each whiff brought it back. It was simply
delightful!
I whiffed and enjoyed this sweet pleasure
through smellin'...
Then thought, "...wonder if this scent's
comin' from
"
