A festive, special day it was.
You spent it all alone.
For, I was busy all that day;
but did find time to phone.

You understood, so by yourself
was how the day was spent.
I had no time to organize
some gala Grande event.

There was no time for much, for me;
my days were full--all planned.
You loved me so I worried, not.
Of course you'd understand.

Perhaps next week I'd find the chance,
this day to recognize.
Today was much too busy;
you did surely realize.

Our Anniversary Number One;
together one whole year!
And what was my big gift for you?
My voice, you got to hear!

Now, one year since that day has come.
And there's no Col and Dave.
I know, sincerely you deserved
much more than what I gave.
