The day had been all overcast;
just ashen overhead.
True quiet, calmness did pervade
and mellowness was bred.

Then in rolls this attacking lot
to conquer and invade.
Then dimness falls around me;
...seems like, drawn, has been the shade!

Above's a raging battlefield;
the dark clouds hindered, not!
There's such a sense of chaos, now;
looks like a boiling pot!

Oh! What a change from when my gaze
looked up two seconds back;
All greyness, then was what I saw
but fast, all's turning black!

The darkness...overwhelming all;
such discord, conflict, strife!
I looked at this unheaval...
mused, "This looks a lot like life."

The heavens seemed...a metaphor;
'twas playing out the script
that came my way a few years back
and me, so tightly gripped!

So, what occurred, resulted in
me being in this land.
And where I am's delightful, yes!
I need to understand...

I'd not be here if any bump
was missing on the list.
If one cloud less had come my way,
what's present, I'd have missed!

But still this concept wouldn't blend;
two stories, sep'rate told.
The end I thought just perfect but
the path...could not enfold!

The construct, I knew did make sense;
the logic I could face;
the journey, though with ev'ry step
I couldn't hug--embrace!

So, how can this adventure get
all fully intermixed?
Where is the bridging entity?
I want it found, affixed

to blend all angles fully so,
it's one complete landscape
and I can see the value in
each paint stroke, which took shape?

Perhaps it, I discovered as
this storm advanced and hit;
it made the driving treacherous
but brought this benefit.

The rain it fell but there was blue,
I noticed to my right;
and to my left a rainbow formed;
so stunning and so bright!

But all the madness, which struck first
was needed, right on cue,
for this to happen, hence for me
to get this precious view.

Perhaps this is the clue I sought;
the chain can now be loosed!
The rainbow needs ingredients,
exact to be produced!
