Dream A Little Dream Of Me

What Stirred
"The Dream"

by DR Varg

When Rick and Ilsa parted, there
were lots of things unknown!
They seemed so fine together but
Rick now was all alone!

He wished to find the reason why
their parting did take place.
And it did come! But took awhile.
So long---di'nt see her face!

And then one day she walked into
the cafe owned by him.
But when he saw her, he was shocked!
His state turned sad and grim.

He later hits the bottle, pounds
the table and does whine,
"Of all the gin joints in the world!
And she walks into mine!"

But later they do share it all!
They talk all through the night.
And Rick then gets things pacified!
The peace he feels; just right!

I envied Rick in '96;
I hoped Colette and I
could talk to help me understand;
our time was over. Why?!

What prodded her to stop our days?
I wished, that, she'd explain!
Then peace, like that which Richard got
I'd feel! It, I'd attain!

But we ne'er got that circumstance,
to salve my vivid bruise.
Another route, though did appear;
I stepped into her shoes!
I sought to seek her point of view;
to sense things from her side.
The Dream, I then did author. Just
her thoughts, to grasp, I tried.

Though Rick got what he longed for due
a long talk, which they shared;
I tried to find Col's feelings;
at her side, I focussed, stared.

My goal was to perceive the peace,
which Richard Blaine did get!
So, Col's perspective, I then sought;
to come in, it, I let!
