Appreciate The Love
by DR Varg

  The gestures of her love Oh! once
just summoned up such hurt;
a sign depicting her devotion
made me so alert

that what we had seemed marvelous,
yet soon, away 'twas cast!
What happened? Why'd the closeness fade?
Why din't our love just last?

These signs, there are so many! Yes!
Inside the box: A Mass!

guy holding box (15K)
And each was such a weight to touch;
could not ignore--bypass

the path she then selected, which
declared me tossed aside!
What happened? Looking at these cards,
such love she does confide!

Her thoughts, preserved, expressed a state
she sensed deep in her heart!
Yes! Each was so sincerely penned;
her love, they did impart!

But Lo! these sights then'd generate
the loss, which came about!
And No! that couldn't be ignored;
its impact, had such clout!

Oh! Some advised, "Get over her!" "Move on!"
"Just let her go!"
But couldn't just ignore her touch!
The cards contained just so

darn many words depicting love, all
deeply felt, expressed!
And when I held them--seemed 'twere real!
This couldn't be repressed!

And for so long, the love announced
(as in my hand, 'twas held)
just triggered what arrived then next;
how she was soon compelled

to move ahead (her words: "move on")
and end up "down the road!"
and when I did discover this,
such pain it yes! bestowed!

And lo! this sequence always struck;
it always led to hurt!
But fin'lly, I'm discov'ring more;
that path, I can subvert!

When holding, reading one of her
expressions, so love-filled,
I'm sensing now the gift it was;
there's gratefulness instilled!

Her words are treasures...they preserve
a time which was a prize!
And we're together when I read her words.
They serve as ties!

And this is precious, what I feel.
Oh! What a blessed state!
...can reconnect now with that time
and feel a love so great!
