Lost And FUZZY (3.12K)
lost guy (4.7K) by DR Varg lost guy (4.7K)

  In '96...was told, "Don't fret!"
"Don't dwell on her--it's ended!"
But couldn't just, that time forget;
seemed like our lives had blended!

We shared so much. She was so dear!
Her smile brought me such pleasure!
Our time, a month more than a year
was such a joy, a treasure!

12K
But suddenly she was compelled
to find what more was waiting.
The loyalty I thought we held
was deemed t'be fast abating!

The jolt that hit was huge, intense;
so seemed, 'twould ne'er be distant!
Our love, so special, so immense
was now deemed nonexistent!

And then she met her long-sought prince.
...was off to pastures, greener.
This course surprised me...got no hints
the last time now, I'd seen her!

But her non-presence was just brief!
My hill's base, soon she haunted!
This led to tears and pain and grief;
my peace there, it was daunted!

I had to leave, to sell, to move.
This town, I let them own it!
I couldn't just accept, approve
her new life and condone it!

When we were partners, her address
was distant, so I had to
commute a lot--caused some duress
but basic'ly, was glad to!

...enjoyed the times at her abode;
the lengthy drive...I coped with!
But when she landed down the road,
such trauma, then I groped with!

I tried to put my life in gear;
...was stuck! Some asked, "Why was he?"
Her touch was vivid...oh so clear!
But now, sometimes it's fuzzy!

I never dreamed t'would get like this!
...seemed she'd be bright forever!
Her image sharp...no way to miss;
a distant mem'ry? Never!

...Accepted then, this cross to bear;
this load so stout; a plateful!
But time has passed. Now I'm aware
...got through it and I'm grateful!

Just recently, I took a ride;
her grave, my destination.
She's back in Suncook, since she died.
I sought a visitation!

Inside my brain, she'll ne'er depart
but time alas, effects it!
I drove the route once known by heart
and got off the wrong exit!
