A bean burrito, I picked up
last week, at Taco Bell.
When in my truck, I took one bite...
looked down...I wore it well.
I reached o'er for some napkins.
As then, downward, I did glance,
old mem-o-ries were stirred up
from that blot upon my pants.
It's funny how the senses work--
a touch, a smell, a sight.
These brought me back;
one day with you and
afternoon delight.
While lying in our afterglow,
the ev'ning we addressed.
I recommended Taco Bell;
A coupon, I possessed.
So there, we went. We got our meal
and took a little ride.
I brought you to a pleasant spot
along a riverside.
'Twas just a picnic table
off the road among some trees.
The river gently flowed, nearby.
There was a soothing breeze.
We set the table, from the bag.
Then we commenced to eat.
And it was one full sensory, yet
simple dining treat!
Cuisine, was less than true gourmet;
it wasn't lamb or veal.
Yet, it was most assuredly
a fine delightful meal!
The whole scene was quite magical;
made senses resonate!
The setting, it was lovely;
as was, too, my dinnermate.
This spring, I stopped there once again;
looked out and could proclaim
the view was still identical;
yet nothing was the same.
