I've Grown Accustomed To Her Face (My Fair Lady)

My Girl Whitney

She likes to snooze.
My bed is
her favorite place.
Whitney on the bed (15.5K)
Whitney spent lots of happy hours here.
She lived to age 13.
She woke me up every day at 7:00 A.M.
She was a great alarm clock!
Now she's snoozin' in heaven.
I miss her.

Whitney's Face

to the tune of:
I've Grown Accustomed To Her Face

(from My Fair Lady)

(verse 1)

I've grown accustomed to her face,
she always makes the day begin.
I've grown accustomed to her eyes,
which tell me, "Time to rise!"
I wake and see her gaze at me.

She's telling me the day is here.
"Get up. It's time to rise and shine!"
She doesn't force me with a deadline;
she is patient; that's her style.
Frequently she climbs up on the bed
to snooze awhile...

I've grown accustomed to her sign,
which tells me, "Rise and Shine!";
accustomed to her face.

(verse 2)

I've grown accustomed to her face.
It seems so natural to see.
I've grown accustomed to that look,
so precious, in my book.
Those eyes so wide, at my bedside.

It's such a normal daily scene,
to see her staring there at me.
I can't imagine any morning
where the first sight of the day
doesn't have that face belonging to my little grey.

I've grown accustomed to her gaze
to start all of my days;
accustomed to her face.
