C2 COBs

You will need a program to extract the COB's files from the .zip file that it comes in; if you do not have WinZip installed on your computer, please go download it now. If the files are not listed in WinZip as having specific folders as their destination, then please individually extract the files to their proper spots or move them after unzipping the whole thing. In C2, .cob files go in the Objects folder, .wav files go in the Sounds folder, and .s16 files go in the Images folder. Also, be sure to read the .txt file that comes with each COB before injecting it. If a COB does not work for you, the most likely reason is that a file is in the wrong folder. If WinZip lists an .exe file, double-click that file to begin the installation process.
Grendel-Tending:
| The Breedable Grendels and Ettins COB will allow fertile grendels (check the breeding page for info on where to get them) to breed. Get this from Jimbo's Creatures 2 COBs Page. |
 |
Grendel-Killing:
| Grendel mother/machine remover will get rid of grendels and their "mother" for good; you can still import grendels that you've downloaded. From Spirit at Creatures Shack. Spirit created this for a good reason, actually; she was saddened by seeing the baby grendels hatch, fall into the nearby volcano, and have their bone marrow die because of the radiation that the volcano produces. This way, the game does not produce a grendel automatically, and you can import them to the incubator area if you wish, and lead them to where you'd like them to live. This does not have a remover; to have the game produce more egg-hatched grendels, you must start a new world with the emergency kit (export any creatures you want to keep before doing so). |
 |
Grendel-"Looking":
![[Go to the C2 site to download the Christmas Pack]](xyz/grenfros.jpg) | The Grendel Frost COB is part of the Christmas Pack, available from the official Creatures 2 site. He's a tiny blue grendel, seen by creatures as being a "nature" item, who walks around chuckling and going "brr", and occasionally lifting his arms skyward and calling down snow. |
Very Important:
Do not post the following COBs to your webpage without asking permission of me, Denise Voskuil - contact me before putting it on your webpage. Do not post these to alt.binaries.games.creatures. Also, you must give proper credit to who created it, and provide a link to my webpage in case people who download it need to contact me with problems. Please respect the feelings and rights of COB creators - we're awfully proud of the work we do for free for the online Creatures community, and just want some consideration. All newer COBs from me will have a "watch" period where they will only be allowed on a very few webpages, to test them for errors that might have escaped beta-testing (this makes hunting down archived old copies easier); please wait for at least a couple of weeks before requesting to be able to post any new COBs.
Other COBs
![[Download the Candle COB]](xyz/cndl.gif) | The Candle COB, which helps reduce fear and loneliness in creatures, and will give a little warmth to them as well. COB by me, Denise Voskuil; graphics by Wafuru.
This COB was also created in appreciation of the COB-making done by SteerPike, who did so much to add cheer to norns' lives in C1. It is a loss to us all that he feels his "oddball" COB style doesn't fit into the somewhat sinister C2 world. Since he has said he doesn't know what the future may bring, we leave a little candle burning for hope of his return to COBbling, and for
all other online contributors to C1/C2 who were disappointed by what they saw in C2.
Please read the enclosed text file after unzipping. The other enclosed file is a COB file; extract it to the Objects folder. You must have installed Object Pack 1 from the official Creatures 2 site for this COB to work, as that pack upgrades your Agent Injector. |
![[Download the Coconut Vendor COB]](xyz/apeh.jpg) | The Coconut Vendor COB produces delicious and nutritious coconuts for your creatures to eat. COB by me, Denise Voskuil, with an update by Ali Maggs; graphics by SteerPike with animation help from Frimlin. Please read the enclosed text file after unzipping. The other enclosed file is a COB file; extract it to the Objects folder. You must have installed Object Pack 1 from the official Creatures 2 site for this COB to work, as that pack upgrades your Agent Injector. Version 1.1 - Jan. 3, 1999: fixes problem with how coconuts respond to gravity. |
![[Download the Extra Toy Car COB]](xyz/toycar.gif) | The Extra Toy Car COB is a copy of the one that comes with the game; removing it will not affect the original, and the CyberLife "upgrade" COB for the toy car will not affect this toy. Use this if you've misplaced your original car, your norns threw it somewhere in a temper tantrum and now you can't find it, or if you'd like a second one in your game. COB by me, Denise Voskuil. Please read the enclosed text file after unzipping. The other file included is the COB file; extract it to the Objects folder. Version 1.1 - Mar. 16, 1999: fixes small error of COB jumping around in hand after injection. |
![[Download the Carrot Seed Dispenser COB]](xyz/carrseed.gif) | The Carrot Seed Dispenser COB is a copy of the one that comes with the game; removing it will not affect the original, and it will also not disrupt any of the carrots you've planted with the removed one. Use this if you've misplaced your original carrot seed dispenser, or if you'd like a second one in your game. COB by me, Denise Voskuil. Please read the enclosed text file after unzipping. The other file included is the COB file; extract it to the Objects folder. Update to fix small problems (spinning animation continues; dispenser jumps around in hand) coming soon. |
Note to COB makers: I am using the range of class numbers between 42400 and 42499. Please take note of this if you are making COBs, and consider asking on alt.games.creatures if anyone has reserved the range that you have in mind.
