C2 Grendels
Important for C2 owners: It has been reported on the alt.games.creatures newsgroup that if you convert a C1 grendel via the nornverter and import it into C2, it looks like a norn. Thus, conversion is not recommended. If you want to know more about how you can breed grendels, you should look at my Breeding page. Lis Morris of The Palace of the Evil Shee created a breedable grendel couple (and a breedable ettin couple as a bonus), but read the breeding page to find out what else you have to do to get them to reproduce. New sprites for female grendels are available in the C2 Life Kit, which is now available for sale and download on the official Creatures 2 site. It can also be purchased later through stores on CD-ROM. It has a lot of other items on it, as well. Frimlin's Kiwi Creatures now has "amphibigrendels" - amphibious grendels! In other words, they can breathe on land and underwater! They're a bluish-green, with bright blue eyes. This should be a big help if your grendels like to "go swimming" a lot - though if you have the puffer fish from CyberLife's Object Pack 1 installed, they'll get rescued anyway. Frimlin has amphibious norns and ettins available there too; check the Amphibicreatures section of his C2 page for all of them. Note that if an amphibious creature breeds with a non-amphibious one, there's a 50/50 chance that the offspring will be amphibious - watch the babies carefully if you aren't using puffer fish. He's also got some lovely (air-breathing) purple grendels in his regular grendels section. Do you miss the old grendels from C1? Pool Shark created a new breed of grendels so that the C1 grendels can roam about your C2 Albia. Download them from the Franken Creatures and More page of Rude Dog and Pool Shark's site. Still having problems getting your grendels to thrive? New and improved grendels have been made from Slink's C306 genome by Carolyn Horn; they also have sex-linked colors, and come in amphibious versions too if you prefer. (There are ettins there too as well.)
