However, stress that leaves us feeling nervous, scared, anxious, emotionally upset and out of control, is unhealthy. Such stress can lead to a variety of symptoms like tension headaches, fatigue, loss of concentration, relationship problems and overall unhappiness. Hypnotic suggestions can replace catastrophic thoughts with truthful statements explaining the nature of the symptoms and the realization that the physical sensations can cause no harm. Hypnosis can slow the heartbeat, achieve a sense of balance, generate relaxation through deep breathing, free the throat to swallow, overcome sensations of temperature change and promote clear-headedness. Whether it's creepy crawly things, pitch darkness or things that go bump in the night, we all feel fearful of something to some degree. It is natural and normal. And feeling fear is certainly healthy and vital in keeping us safe from real danger, such as being outside during a lightening storm or carelessly crossing a street with heavy traffic. Overwhelming fearfulness may cause extreme apprehension and severely interfere with a person's daily life. A fear of heights may cause a person to experience intense worry and apprehension simply by walking across a small bridge. The person consciously knows the bridge is safe, but such fearfulness is never reasonable. And such fearfulness may expand to include a number of other things and situations. Fearfulness is actually the subconscious way to protect a person from what it perceives to be harmful and life threatening. The subconscious mind cannot decipher real danger from imagined danger, and so it creates an intense fearfulness resulting in intense discomfort, which causes the person to avoid what it perceives as pending danger. Such building irrational fears can obviously create such emotional and physical distress, that many areas of life become unbearable. Fearfulness may result from intense catastrophic thinking. A painful relationship break-up with a lover may create overwhelming emotional and physical distress in an individual. When faced with the prospects of becoming intimately involved with another person, the fearful thought of another rejection, another loss and enduring deep emotional sadness, can cause the individual to develop severe apprehensions. In time, just the thought of feeling apprehensive generates more fear, which creates more apprehension. The person may even become hyper-vigilant, and easily unnerved at the slightest physical sensation that reminds them of possible fearful feelings. And the person quickly feels they have lost control of themselves and their life. When the initial event of the unset of the fear is consciously known, hypnosis is a safe, quick and effective way to take back control of yourself and your life, by re-examining the fear and establishing realistic and accurate thinking. It helps you to replace out-of-control reactions with relaxing and calming responses. In addition, self-hypnosis is a powerfully effective method you can use on your own, to continue to dissolve any further catastrophic thinking, and continue to build self-confidence, self-assurance and emotional wellness. In some cases, the initial event where the fear originated may be consciously unknown. Hypnosis gives the individual the opportunity to uncover the situation and circumstance where the fear began. This allows the individual to re-examine the conditions causing the fear to develop and gain insight to how it grew into extreme fearfulness. New insight and understanding allows the subconscious mind to re-organize, change its perceptions of danger, and eliminate fearfulness and resulting discomforts. Often the initial event where the fear is found to have originated is remembered, but seems insignificant. After all, how can a simple fun jester of Dad tossing you as a youngster into the air or whirling you around above his head, cause you a sudden feeling of great fearfulness at the age of 30, while you are looking over a second story balcony? Well, it can. And it does. Overwhelming fearfulness can begin at any time, but most debilitating fears originate in the early childhood years when the mind is most impressionable and a deep fear of the unknown can more easily develop. If deep feelings of fearfulness are holding you prisoner, let hypnosis unlock the door and set you free. Whether the current fear stems from an old outdated, illogical and unnecessary memory of a past fear, or has developed from intense catastrophic thinking, hypnosis allows for rapid and efficient change. It empowers you to take back full control of yourself, and live your life feeling calm, confident and balanced.

Self-Esteem, Confidence, & Motivation Frequently personal attacks ,hurts, or negative valuations are absorbed by and buried in subconscious memory, with the victim totally unaware of the sources of troubled feelings, fears, self-doubt and damaging attitudes. But we know that the subconscious mind is the storage house of memory. Through hypnotherapy it is possible to set aside the conscious mind, seek, locate, and uncover the detrimental memories which adversely affecting personality, and in bringing the problems to light and understanding, accomplish a resolution which can free the client from the past and open doors to future progress and achievement. Each and every one of us is innately driven to progress in life, and to achieve our own personal best. And at the same time, each and every one of us experiences difficulties in one or all the areas that form the basis of such success, namely self-esteem, confidence and motivation. Hypnosis has proven time and time again, to help us to uncover the core feelings causing poor self-esteem, low confidence and in turn lack of motivation. Such knowledge is essential for creating change and success. Hypnosis then sets the arena for us to regain self-worth and self-assurance, recognize our capabilities and build a desire to take action by defining clear goals and planning a step-by-step approach. Smaller successes in themselves are a powerful motivating influence to achieve more successes. This in turn fuels more confidence, more belief in ourselves and in our capabilities, and belief in our worthiness to be successful and happy. First and foremost, a good solid healthy attitude toward ourselves is essential for confidence and motivation. Low self-esteem, feeling unworthy and incompetent, most often begins in the early childhood years, when we are most vulnerable to degrading opinions and comments made toward us by family, teachers and friends. Hypnosis allows us to review past circumstances unclouded by conscious judgment, and more truthfully understand how and why we formed our fearful and demeaning self-beliefs. New insight allows us to clear away old fearful and limiting perceptions of ourselves, and build a new attitude that is self-accepting, assertive and trusting in ourselves. In essence, we are rebuilding our most important relationship, and that is the one we have with ourselves. Such renewed self-value and self-appreciation lays the groundwork for self-confidence. Hypnosis guides us to look within ourselves for acceptance and approval, and honestly learn to determine from within, what is good and right and productive for ourselves. Thus, we build a powerful sense of, "I am in charge and I can do it" attitude. We build self-support and self-trust, and we learn to self-direct toward what works best for us to achieve our own personal needs and desires. Consequently, outside opinions and comments made toward us simply do not have any hurtful influence on us. With self-esteem and confidence well in place, we have the foundation to move fully into action and take the steps necessary to reach our goals and be our success. Hypnosis guides us to set clear and attainable goals in small reasonable steps. This motivates our subconscious mind to continue to work, and we look forward to the string of rewards obtained through smaller successes. As smaller rewards mount into bigger rewards, and we can more fully envision our ultimate goal, disappointments and frustrations that naturally accompany all goals have little lasting power. Give yourself the opportunity to take a journey for change and success, and achieve your own personal best through the power of hypnosis. |

So often alcohol abusers are told that their failure to get clean is because they are hopeless addicts. They may have spent time in rehab centers, where the motive was to rid the body of the toxic chemicals, but insufficient effort was given to the emotional factors driving the urge and compulsion. And so the alcohol abuser, unable to find permanent relief from the urge, tragically accepts the grave belief that complete recovery is impossible for them. Hypnosis offers the alcohol abuser a different understanding. An understanding that the mind and body are intrinsically connected, and physiological health, or rebalancing of the body chemistry, is dependent on emotional health. In other words, the users problem originates in deep seeded hurtful and fearful thoughts and emotions. Creating emotional health is the basis for recovery of alcoholism. Alcoholism is therefore viewed as a symptom of emotional ill health. The addictive symptoms include physical aches, perfuse sweating, and extreme feelings of fear. Thus, a user is compelled to find relief through alcohol abuse. Such relief is only temporary. If the deep seeded hurtful and fearful thoughts and emotions remain unchanged, the cycle of abuse continues. As with all substance abuse, finding recovery for alcoholism must happen in several respects. First and foremost is an honest willingness and desire to change and become alcohol free. Then it is vital for a user to honestly belief that such a change is possible for them through hypnosis. Thirdly, success is dependent on being completely honest with one self. Cheating with a few alcohol drinks simply perpetuates the chemical imbalance, and fuels self-destructive thought patterns. Finding help for physical detoxification is strongly suggested, as emotional health and self-control is built through hypnosis. It has been my experience to see some wonderful change in just a few hypnotic sessions. Clients are delighted with new feelings of deep relaxation, new inner strength and ease of mind. Although the hypnotic process does offer rapid change, I believe successful and full recovery is best found when an individual remains committed and completes a series of planned sessions. Thus, the seeds for change are reinforced and well established within the mind. Although sessions vary according to individual needs, the overall program I have set forth, is such that new healthy emotional and thought patterns set the foundation for a new healthy self-identity and belief system. Hypnosis is not a cure for alcoholism. However it is an effective means for self-empowerment and to gain self-control. If you are suffering from alcoholism, let hypnosis help you to let go of self-destructive thought patterns and build life-saving new strategies for wellness.

Most of us have been conditioned to look for pain relief from outside sources. However, finding relief by treating only the physical symptoms with medication, surgery or perhaps a form of physical therapy, we undermine the enormous part the mind plays in the experience of pain. Hypnosis teaches us how connected our mind and body is, by giving us the powerful ability to control our mental perceptions of pain, and change its affect on our body. Before utilizing hypnosis for any type of pain relief, it is vital to first seek medical attention. Pain is an important signal to alert us about a physical injury or illness, and that medical treatment may be necessary. Once a proper medical diagnosis has been established, hypnosis can help, not as a means to fully block or eliminate pain, but to selectively control pain. Countless case studies report major surgery being performed using only hypnosis, without the aid of anesthesia to create total physical desensitization, or an analgesic to reduce or eliminate sensations in a localized area. Although such profound mental control of pain is available to all of us, we can find our own level of dramatic pain relief through hypnosis. Some common conditions successfully using hypnosis are migraine headaches, back pain, arthritic pain, dental pain, post surgical pain, illness and disease pain. The mental anguish of suffering from long-term and reoccurring pain can create feelings of great sadness and hopelessness. Such emotional distress can lead to more difficulties such as extreme fatigue, loss of appetite and poor sleep. As physical pain deprives such an individual from participating in life's joys, functions and activities, the individual may move into more emotional despair leading to low self-esteem, low self-worth and isolation. Hypnosis can readily revitalize such individuals and give them a new sense of control, freedom and hope in life. Relaxation plays an important part for most types of pain relief. Hypnosis by its very nature eases your mental and physical stress and creates deeply calming and quieting relaxation. Hypnosis can then help you to take control of your specific pain by helping you to develop new ways of feeling and thinking about the pain, and then carry out certain cues or actions to create physical relief and comfort. Hypnotic techniques include combining mental focus and concentration with imagery to transform, recreate and shrink pain. Other techniques can suspend pain, by distracting your attention to another part of your body. By imagining comfort flowing into this other part of your body, equal comfort can be imagined to flow into the first area, causing the original pain to melt away. Other techniques create pleasant feelings and associations with the discomfort, creating a new sense of comfort and control. Certain cues such as a clenched fist can represent getting a grip on your discomfort, and then releasing your fist can represent releasing the discomfort from your body and mind. Hypnosis is also a wonderful way to vividly remember those times before pain. And by using all your senses, you can bring back to life that you, as a joyful, healthy and pain-free individual. Give yourself a new lease on life, and let hypnosis help you to reprogram your subconscious mind to achieve both immediate and long-term pain relief. Give yourself time and patience. Allow yourself to open to the power of your creative mind to adopt the mental imagery, metaphors, cues and specific suggestions that best apply to you. And you will find that each time you practice your pain relief strategy, the benefits grow stronger and your ability to control your situation improves.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a powerful technology for quickly resolving emotional distress. It is even capable of relieving physical complaints such as chronic pain, allergic symptoms, and much more. When effective, not only does it do this quickly, but it works without forcing the recipient to repeatedly re-experience the negative emotional state. This treatment is generally permanent, relatively easy to apply, boasts a higher than 80% success rate and is free of negative side effects. How does EFT Work?
By stimulating certain acupressure points, neural receptors under the skin convert that pressure to an electrical impulse that is transmitted to the brain. The person is then asked to connect to the physical pain, unpleasant emotion or just simply “tune in” to the uncomfortable memory or future event, whilst these energy points are gently tapped. (Fig 1 & 2 below). This allows a release of physical and emotional trauma which is experienced as an unlocking of the negative feelings, and a release of the emotional intensity that has kept the person trapped. People often report a release of energy at this stage and describe feelings of light-headedness, yawning, sighing and a sense of freedom.
One of the most
miraculous aspects of this treatment is the confused relief that people
experience when they are suddenly without the familiar response that may have
plagued them for years.
Emotional Freedom Technique creates healing by means of realigning and rebalancing the body's energy system. Over 5,000 years age, the Chinese discovered that our body is a complex and very precise system of energy circuits, known as meridians. Gary Craig, founder of EFT, theorizes that, "The cause of all limiting and uncomfortable emotions, is a disturbance or a disruption of the body's energy system." Based on traditional Chinese method of creating health, Gary Craig discovered that by stimulating certain meridian points on our body, normal and healthy flow of energy is restored in our meridians. EFT is comparable to acupuncture, but without the use of needles. Instead, it is done with a series of taps with the fingertip, on specific points on the body. An electric impulse is sent directly to the brain. The body responds, by unblocking and rebalancing the subtle energies of the body. The series of taps are combined with verbal attention to the difficulty, which effectively relieves the uncomfortable emotional reaction. This very simple procedure creates an immediate change and relief for the person. Intensities of uncomfortable feelings, such as fear, stress, tension, cravings and pain are reduced and very often completely eliminated. The person is able to again think clearly and be back in control. EFT has proven time and again, to successfully remove energy blocks, causing both physical and emotional pain, as well as overcome a variety of unwanted behaviors and habits. It combines easily with hypnosis, and provides a person with a greater range of tools for effective and healthy change. This very simple method is easily and quickly taught to all clients wishing to learn. And once learned, you can apply it at any time you want or need it in your personal life, for all issues and all challenges you may face.
