Non-Profits Announce Partnership for Enhanced Art Program
ECCA and Southern District YMCA collaborate for after-school Arts Enrichment
Exeter, NH (August 26, 2011) - Exeter Center for Creative Arts (ECCA) is pleased to announce its partnership with the Southern District YMCA, operators of Camp Lincoln in Kingston. Starting this fall, an after-school program will be offered from 3:00-6:00 p.m. for students of Main and Lincoln Street schools with YMCA bus transportation provided to ECCA’s 30 Linden Street location. The YMCA will bring its art resources to increase the ECCA curriculum that will offer each child a daily art class of drawing, painting, pottery, and more taught by an artist. Keeping with the Y cause of healthy living and youth development, each day will include a healthy snack, fun exercise and homework time. Parents may also sign their children up for art-only classes in drawing, pottery, etc. after school.
“The YMCA’s culture being so synergistic with ECCA’s makes for a natural partnership. We are anxious to get new classes and an expanded schedule out to the community,” says Donna Archambault, ECCA Board of Director President.
ECCA’s long-standing dedication to art education will be cooperatively directed by the Southern District YMCA. The ECCA Board of Directors will continue to raise money for its student scholarships and operating budget. The YMCA will manage, staff and build the curriculum that will continue to strengthen art education in the Seacoast area.
