Examples of ECCA programs that meet unique community needs include:
- Art for the Elderly: This is a traveling program where an ECCA Instructor brings the classroom to the students. This program was an important source of activity, therapy, and creativity for participants at the Exeter Health Care Center in Exeter.
- Homeschooling: ECCA teaches students at the art center who are schooled at home. These students attend regular classes for children and teens where they find not only high quality art education, but also a new social outlet. ECCA also coordinates customized classes for groups of homeschoolers during the day.
- School vacation and summer creative camps: These one or two-week sessions combine traditional camp “fun” with fine arts instruction during a half or full day. Camps explore a wide range of art mediums and subjects so that children have a chance to really let their creativity shine.
- Squamscott Community Commons:
ECCA is participating in the planning and development of the
new community center, which is slated to be open in 2008. ECCA,
along with the other organizations participating in the SCC project,
high quality educational, enrichment, and recreational programming
is available for all ages and interests in the greater seacoast
area.
- Summer Drama camps: Two-week Acting Up! camps allow students to explore drama and movement along with the visual arts in creating a play, the props, and scenery, culminating in a production for family and friends. Other drama camps include puppetry and masks.
