Karen Desrosiers, Lead Teacher, Executive Director

Karen has a passion for working with our younger artists. Her classes are designed to children's own unique imaginations and inherent creativity. Karen has taught art to children through area recreation departments, private lessons and at ECCA. Karen is a published writer and artist. After spending many years in the high-tech industry, Karen has chosen a life of creativity. She lends her business experience and skills to help manage and develop the art center. She is also pursuing a Studio Arts degree, working toward a Masters in Art Therapy.

Amanda Collis, Drama Teacher

Amanda is a high school teacher with experience teaching science and English.  She is also a stage actor with significant experience in all aspects of theater, including acting, production, directing, set design, and stge management.  Her experience, creativity, and dedication have helped make ECCA's Acting Up! summe drama camp a success for the past three years.

Katherine Daniels, Art Teacher

Katherine has a degree in studio arts and a certification in art education from the University of New Hampshire.  She has taught a wide range of art classes for ECCA, and throughout the seacoast area, including drawing, painting, collage, and puppetry.

Anarita Droukis, Photography Teacher

Anartia is a professional photographer in the seacoast area.  She has a BFA in photography from Northeastern University.  Anarita has also been an Assistant Professor of Photography at UNH.

Sandy McDermott, Drawing, painting, and print making

Sandy McDermott, a native of maritime Canada, was raised in New England and attended graduate school in Santa Cruz, California. She is the illustrator of the recently published book The Nature of Cape Cod, as well as numerous other projects. She has been teaching and sharing her passion for drawing the natural world since 1998 and has been a freelance Natural Science Illustrator since 1992. Professional memberships include the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators (both the national and New England chapters) the Graphic Artist's Guild, Orion Society, New England Wildflower Society, the National Wildlife Federation and the Audubon Societies of New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Maine. Some of her clients include Bryce Canyon and Yosemite National Parks, Sierra National Forest, Moss Landing Marine Laboratories, California State University-Fresno, Massachusetts Audubon Society, Harvard Museum of Natural History and University Press of New England. She now lives in the coastal New Hampshire area with her husband Sean, daughter Kelsey, and a dog named Oreo.
