makeup quizzes, one for quiz 12 and one for quiz 13.
-
Eric will be away next week at a conference. Elaine will proctor the practice final.
However, she will NOT be able to hold office hours during my normal time slot,
so office hours for this date (the 10th), normally from 5 to 6, are
cancelled.

REQUIRED SCHEDULE CHANGES
-
Owing to the weather cancellation on December 13, 2007, we are required
by the registrar to hold a makeup class on Thursday January 17, 2008.
This has the effect of shifting all our classes off by a week:
-
Exam 2 makeup, previously scheduled for December 20, will now be held on January 3.
-
The practice final, previously scheduled for January 3, will now
be held on January 10.
-
The final exam, previously scheduled for January 10, will now be held
on January 17. It will be in our regular classroom, Sever 202,
at the regular time, 6 to 9 pm.
-
Note that my office hours prior to the final (on January 17)
will be from 5:30 to 6 pm (not 5 to 6 pm).
This is because the FAS owns the room until 5:15 on this date.

Sections.
-
Undergraduate section.
As listed in the catalog, this meets 5:30-6:30 on Tuesdays.
The location is
tentatively Sever 205 (now confirmed).
Office hours will be held immediately after, from 6:30-7:30 (hopefullyin the same room).
All students are encouraged to attend this section
(see catalog for place and time). It is run by the teaching assistant (Elaine).
It covers topics directly related to the course and provides
opportunities to get help on homework and material covered in class.
It is also the venue for makeup quizzes: If you want to
makeup a quiz you took during regular class, you must attend this section.
(See the syllabus for details on quizzes and makeups.)
-
Graduate section.
If you are taking the course for grad credit,
you must attend a separate grad-credit section run by other people
(not by me and Elaine).
This section covers topics related to math pedagogy and is not directly
related to material covered in Math E-8.
-
For students in Eric Towne's graduate section: It meets in Sever 302,
Thursdays 4:45 to 5:45 starting September 27.
More information is available here.
-
Details for other graduate sections will be posted as soon as they become available.
-
Office hours.
-

in the same room as section.
-
The text is a relatively mature work in progress.
Earlier versions have been used successfully in E-8 for several years.
See this announcement for more details.

to students in E-3, E-8, E-9, E-10, E-15, and E-16.
